NERETA Delivers Needed Training to Regional Leaders

SCRANTON, PA – 17 Apr, 2017 – Public and Educational administrators dedicate their lives to making our regions better. They are not people who grandstand for attention and they certainly are not making huge salaries. But they are the people who are making the day-to-day decisions that make the country run.  They truly are the stability “behind the throne” of those who do get recognition and attention in the media.

But, according to Colleen LaRose, President and CEO of the North East Regional Employment and Training Association (NERETA) the people in these critical positions are not getting the nourishment that they need to be the most effective that they can be at their jobs. “They get little funding for self-improvement and training opportunities and spend most of their time supporting the growth of others.”  She explained.

“The problem with that is that these administrators really are the leaders of our country! They are therefore the critical factor in the nation’s economic health.  It is in the public interest that public and educational administrators be afforded every opportunity to aid their professional growth.”  LaRose continued.

Specifically, NERETA is trying to get workforce development, economic development and higher education professionals to collaborate in their local regions to:

• Learn how to create an innovative cultural environment.
• Learn how to develop a talent pipelines for business and support business growth.
• Learn to be on the cutting edge of technology use and technology support.

We are counting on these administrators to be the seeds of change that are the force of growth needed by our national economy! We are counting on these administrators to take on the progressive leadership mantle needed to provide sustainable livings for the people who live in their regions. We are all depending on these administrators to assure economic stability for the whole country! You may not have really given thought to these “behind the scenes administrators” before…but I implore you to step back and take a look at who really is running the country on the ground level each and every day…no matter who is in the political power position at any given moment.  It is these public and educational administrators who grease the wheels each and every day that make the machine called “the country” keep running.  And that is why it is imperative that they get training in the most effective techniques to impact economic growth,”  LaRose concluded.

Over 60% of E-Commerce Webpages Are Modified Each Month

New research shows how websites change and the resulting broad impact on SEM campaigns

BOSTON, MA – 18 Apr, 2017 – E-commerce marketers are modifying the majority of the pages on their websites each month, according to a new Vioby study, “Just How Fast Do E-Commerce Websites Change?” An analysis of major online retailer websites over a three-month period found that over 60% of the pages were added or deleted, or had their menus or filters changed nearly every month, thus requiring search marketers to update their ad campaigns frequently to ensure valid landing pages.

Today’s consumers usually start their shopping with an online search. Too often when they click on a search ad, they don’t see what they searched for or even get an error. Vioby analyzed data for major e-commerce sites and found that a significant reason is that the pages of e-commerce websites are changed frequently.

“When shoppers do a search and click on an ad, they expect to see what they just searched for,” said Alec Belfer, CEO of Vioby. “When they do, the bounce rate goes down and the conversion rate goes up. Vioby is committed to helping our e-commerce search marketer clients deliver the optimal shopping experience by ensuring that the shoppers always land on the most relevant webpage.”

The data was collected by visiting every page of each website at one-month intervals from late last summer to early autumn. The Black Friday sales and holiday shopping period were explicitly avoided. The retailer sites analyzed ranged from about 400 pages to 10,000 pages. The analysis focused on product category webpages and excluded differences solely due to which particular merchandise items were displayed on a page. SUITABLE FOR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS IN CITIES AND ON BRIDGES

The easy-to-install and compact StaRWIS is a new stationary sensor for road weather information systems. This is based on a non-invasive, spectroscopic measuring principle. The sensor is particularly suitable for hard-to-reach or critical locations, which make installation on the ground difficult or impossible. This includes, for example, bridges or city streets.

StaRWIS provides the values of road temperature, dew point temperature, water film height, road conditions (dry, wet, ice, snow, critical and chemically wet), relative humidity, the percentage of ice and friction. In November 2017, a firmware update will expand the capabilities to include the freezing point temperature and dew point density.

StaRWIS can be installed at a height between five and six meters. Thus, it has a shorter range than the road weather sensor NIRS31-UMB, which can be installed flexibly at distances to the surface of 15 to 50 meters. The innovation therefore complements the portfolio of the Lufft sensors for winter services, smart cities and traffic management applications with a more cost-effective and compact model.

NO COMPROMISES ON ACCURACY, THANKS TO MARWIS LED TECHNOLOGY

The new StaRWIS road weather sensor is based on the same Lufft LED technology as the MARWIS mobile sensor. In this way, it achieves the highest precision that opto-electronic weather sensors are capable of attaining. Like the MARWIS, Bluetooth can be used to wirelessly control the configuration as well as the data transfer. Alternatively, a connection via RS485 and CAN bus is also possible.

“StaRWIS provides all measurements accurately and reliably. It even exceeded our expectations,” reported the first Canadian tester.

PayRange to be Available on Japanese Vending Machines

PayRange Inc., maker of the world’s simplest mobile payment solution for machines, announced it has signed an agreement with Sumitomo Mitsui Card Company (SMCC), the largest merchant acquirer in Japan to begin the work necessary to expand the PayRange mobile payment solution to millions of Japanese vending machines.

Japan has among the most advanced vending machine markets in the world. The ubiquitous vending machines are available on virtually every street corner in the cities. However, almost none of the vending machines take credit or debit cards. Some machines accept prepaid transit cards, but the vast majority are cash and coin only.

“It has been very expensive to bring cashless solutions to this vending market. The PayRange solution is unique in that it requires no networking infrastructure allowing easy upgrade of the existing fleet of machines,” stated SMCC. “We’re particularly eager to offer solutions to vending merchants that will allow them to upgrade their machines ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics when millions of visitors and athletes will visit.
